Cali Deli in Jakarta

Bahn mi was amazing. Others not so much. Fried wonton, pho, dried noodle were average. Bahn mi, however, was delicious. Bread was crunchy and not too hard. The calideli love, lemongrass chicken, and grill chicken bahn mi were really nice. Fresh spring roll, fried shrimp roll, tea, and coffee were not bad. Wifi was available, although a bit slow. A bit expensive too.

Madame Ching and Cali Deli is two restaurants owned by same person. Located in front of antique shops in Menteng area. Nice ambience with red color dominate the interior. It serves Vietnamese cuisine and some kind of Asian food. The taste is good, we like the variety of sandwich 'banh mi'. Price is average.

THE BEST SANDWICH IN JAKARTA!I have been here maybe 1/2 dozen times and it is always delicious! A perfect place to eat after strolling around Antique Alley or Jalan Surabaya, or just a quick taxi ride away from the National Museum. I always get the Cali Deli Love and my wife always gets the lemongrass chicken - we usually share a piece, as they come cut in thirds, and they’re always delicious! We have also had the spring rolls which are light and refreshing as well.The iced tea is LARGE and just what you need on a hot day. Service is very good and attentive, as well.They don’t include service charge so be sure to leave something for the staff!A great, inexpensive local place to dine! Be sure to stop in!

The food n atmos is good untill traffic noise attacking your ears.

For me Cali Deli is the best Vietnamese sandwich in town !!!! I like the bread !!! the bread are soft and crunch the vegetables are always fresh , I like Chicken Lemon Grass and Turkey Sandwich, chicken mushroom soup.Madame Ching is serving other Vietnam dishes like Pho ( noodles) and Fresh Shrimp Roll andany more, and all are delicious and fresh

A nicely decorated Asian noodle place with a choice of western sandwiches. Good drink list and very close to the antique market. Both indoor and outdoor seating available. A great place for hi tea and light lunch!

The bhan mi is nice. I tried the lemongrass chicken. I also tried the beef pho.. its standard and the portion could be a bit bigger. Agak sedikit porsinya. Hehehehehe

Having breakfast vietnamese style and drive a long way from home, I order lemon grass chicken Banh Mi or vietnamese sandwich and a glass of kiwi juice.The Banh Mi taste great, made to perfection, all ingredients is balance. Kiwi juice is also really good and refreshing.Interior is rather old, parking space is limited but service is really good.Food 4/5Drink 4/5Place 3/5Service 4/5

Madame ching and cali deli offers you best bahn mi in town.Crispy outside, fluffy inside with fresh ingredients. The portions itself, is considered Good in size and eating 2/3 of bahn mi already make your tummy full. While there are so many cali deli branches in jakarta. I really enjoyed this branch.If u want to have good coffee you can go to next door: Giyanti. I almost forgot.. this place is of great for meeting and working as well.

I only tried the sandwich, and it's good (not awesome or amazing, just "good"). The taste is unfortunately rather mashed up together. Price is on the expensive side. The atmosphere is nice though. Just be prepared to spend north of 160-200k for 2 persons meal...

Great place to dine! It's quite pricey but the food is so delicious, especially the banh mi! I could say that its banh mi is quite authentic. But other menu like the fried rice is a little bit taste like an indonesian rather than vietnamese.I recommend its lemongrass chicken banh mi

Located in front of the famous antique market at Jl. Surabaya, Menteng, Madame Ching served vietnamese food in antique vibe decoration. There are two separate eating places you can choose, the restaurant (indoor only, they provide indoor smoking room) and the cafe (indoor and outdoor rooms). I ordered the most favorite dish: meatball rice noodle and the roasted chicked salad. Both of them are tasty, the texture of the rice noodle is quite different, it's bouncy. The blended coffee (I forgot the name) is so-so, but overall I love this place for its vibe, delicacy, and the quiteness.

Best place to eat Banh Mi so far. Fresh and juicy. Tried the vietnamese coffee. Great taste and the coffee was strong. Located next to Cali Deli, little bit out of sight. Parking lot is too narrow. Spent around 200-300k IDR for 2 persons.

Mediocre and overpriced. The pho was probably the most average I’ve ever had, certainly inferior to even the lowest plastic-chairs-on-sidewalk street stall anywhere in Vietnam, and even a big step down from some I had in Laos last week...and I was starving when I ate here. I’ve had better in the U.S. for only a dollar or two more made by people who couldn’t find Vietnam on a labeled map of Asia, much less pronounce Pho correctly. The wontons were 95% dough, and the tiny amount of filling just wasn’t tasty. The dipping sauce was though. Atmosphere is good, seats are extremely comfortable, service is great. It would be a good place to hang out with a group. I wanted so badly to like it, but just can’t in good conscience recommend it even if you’re craving Viet food, like I was. I regret not getting a banh mi and fried chicken instead, they seem like (maybe) they’d be harder to mess up. Feel bad about this review but it’s just my honest opinion. Keep looking

Good Location Right In The Front Antique Market,Good Restaurant Decoration & Atsmophere,Good Taste,But Lil Bit Pricey

Mediocre Vietnamese food joint, there are actually 2 in 1 restaurant; Cali Deli which serves Vietnamese sandwiches/banh mi, and Madame Ching, other Vietnamese food. The viet dripped coffee tasted less good than I experienced before. Also I always find amusing restaurant that can not serve food in a sequence order with their supposed to be. When people order appetizer, it should be served earlier than the main course, or when people order dessert, it was not supposed to be served before the main course finishes. Here, they served everything from appetizer, main courses or dessert in whatever random order that they feel like it.

Good place, delicious food. I ordered their fresh and fried shrimp roll. They really generous for its filling ! The beef rice noofle also very good ! Really worth a try .

A long running restaurant in Menteng. Madame Ching offers a wide selection of dishes with a vVietnamese flavor. My favorite is the Turkey sandwich. The price is reasonable and the food delicious. The restaurant is located across from stalls of street merchant stalls that sell a selection of trinkets that tourists can haggle prices and purchase.

Shrug. 🤷‍♂️ This place is not memorable. Especially if your familiar with Vietnamese food from anywhere else. I’m guessing the sandwiches are better, but was not thrilled with quality (or portions) compared to price. 2 spring rolls?!? 😕 Nothing worth returning forBeef rice noodle soup for 80k IDR. 🤦‍♂️Chicken & Rice for 65k IDR. 😣

The Vietnamese restaurant next to it, which also belongs to the same group, Cali Deli, was pretty good when I visited it around 10 years ago. I ordered the Vietnamese Coffee today and it was the weirdest Vietnamese Coffee I’ve ever had in my life. Quite disappointing, considering that they claim the place ‘Hot Vietnamese Sandwiches & Coffee’.
